It is not good enough to just go to church. It is time to be the church. Most Christians today don’t have time for God and they just go to church to be entertained. The choir can sing an hour and the musicians can play an hour but the preacher better not try to preach an hour or he will loose his members. Church folks spend more time watching a movie, going to a baseball game, eating out, walking the dog, going shopping and the list goes on and on, rather than spending 1 hour a day in the presence of God. The world we live in is a mess and it is not because of the unsaved folks. It is because the church is too churchy to do the real work of the ministry. The preachers that say that they are anointed need to know what the anointing is for. When God sent the seventy to do the work of the ministry they came back rejoicing because the demons were subject to them in the name of Jesus. Luke 10:17-20 And Jesus said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning (flash) from heaven. Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and (physical and mental strength and ability) over all the power that the enemy (possesses); and nothing shall in any way harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven. Did you get that? Jesus said that the spirits are subject to you. Why is this not happening today? Why is it that the preachers are not teaching that the anointing will remove burdens and destroy yokes. Why? Why? Why? God said: Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you (the priestly nation) have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me; seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
People today don’t know who God is, therefore they don’t know the difference between the truth and a lie. It is the responsibility of the five-fold ministry (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers) to build up the body of Christ (the church). So that the body might develop and attain oneness in faith and in the comprehension of the (full and accurate) knowledge of the Son of God, that (we might arrive) and really mature. Eph. 4:11-13
JESUS told the devil; IT IS WRITTEN, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. Luke 4:4 and Matthew 4:4 We need to tell the devil what is written. But you have to first know what’s written. If you don’t know the word, then you certainly cannot speak the word to the devil to get him off your back.
God didn’t give the church power to sit on it. He gave the church power to defeat the devil every minute, every hour and every time he shows up in your life. Look at it this way, it won’t do you any good to go to the store and buy a light bulb to replace a light that has blown out. Then look look at the light bulb hoping it will light up with out you connecting it to the power source.
Jesus said: Matthew 5:13-14 That you are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality). It is good for nothing but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid.
IT IS TIME FOR THE CHURCH TO TURN THEIR LIGHTS ON!
We are living in a time where people, places and things have been turned upside down. Politics, schools, race relations, sexual orientation, just to mention a few. Mankind is calling the things that are wrong right and the things that are right wrong. It does not take a rocket scientist to observe and know that the end is near. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 AMP
BUT UNDERSTAND this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble hard to deal with and hard to bear. For people will be lovers of self and utterly self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate greedy desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane. They will be without natural human affection (callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); they will be slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good. They will be treacherous betrayers, rash, and inflated with self-conceit. They will be lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God. For although they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it, their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession. Avoid all such people turn away from them.
Don’t be deceived just because someone has some kind of religion. It was the religious people that crucified Christ. A lot of people believe that there is a God. But only a few people believe in Jesus the only true and living God. It was the blood of Jesus that made an atonement for the sins of the whole world. And it is your choice to accept this free gift so that you might receive eternal life while there is still time. The world we once knew is no more. It is really getting dark almost to the point were it is pitch black. I encourage you today to get saved as it is written in Romans 10:9-13 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Sometimes we miss things that are right in our face because we are not paying attention. When a child is crying out for help their behavior is usually rude and out of control in many different ways. As christians we should have some discernment and take the time to see what is really going on with the child. Children don’t come with manuals and they react to peer pressure and dysfunctional environments very differently. There are some children that will suffer at the hand of a bully and there are other children that won’t be bullied. Just like there are some children that will imitate their parents and there are other children that don’t want to be like their parents…no not at all.
When Jesus was teaching the multitude in Judea, the people kept bringing their children to Him so that He could touch them. The disciples saw this as a disturbance so they stopped them. Mark 10:14-16 AMP
But when Jesus saw it, He was indignant and pained and said to them, Allow the children to come to Me–do not forbid or prevent or hinder them–for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive and accept and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child does positively shall not enter it at all. And He took them the children up one by one in His arms and fervently invoked a blessing, placing His hands upon them.
When a child wants to receive Jesus stop what you are doing and take the time to administer salvation to him or her. Even if they are rude and disorderly.. by doing so you are helping to change their life. Jesus always demonstrates love even when we do not deserve it because God is love. We need to show some love to one another. After all isn’t that what It means to be a christian? Huh.. like Christ… Christ like….Selah
The Bible gives us futher instructions in Ephesians 6:1-4 AMP
CHILDREN, OBEY your parents in the Lord as His representatives, for this is just and right. Honor (esteem and value as precious) your father and your mother–this is the first commandment with a promise– That all may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth. Fathers, do not irritate and provoke your children to anger do not exasperate them to resentment, but rear them tenderly in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord.
God’s word is the final authority. Consider submitting yourself to God’s word today. He said that He would save you and your household. He is an Awesome God…Yes He Is!
To know God is to obey God. Plainly stated “Just do what he tells you to do”. James 4:7-8 AMP So be subject to God. Resist the devil stand firm against him, and he will flee from you. Come close to God and He will come close to you.
I was having lunch with a longtime friend and we were talking about God’s goodness, mercy and grace. During that conversation she told me that someone close to her had been watching her walk with God over the years. And finally understood that because of her obedience to God she has obtained the things that she has. I can certainly relate to that. God told me that the things that He give me are to help me make it in this life. It is not easy to go against your own will and submit yourself to God’s will. But if you are willing, God will make you able. Isaiah 1:19 says if you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land.
Submission is such a powerful word. It’s meaning: the state of being obedient : the act of accepting the authority or control of someone else. To give someone power over you. I would rather give God (who loves me) than the devil (who seeks to destroy me) authority and control over my life. I have a question for you; Who is controlling your life? Selah.
When you really know Jesus you will obey His voice even when you don’t like what He tells you to do. The Bible says it like this in John 10:27-29 AMP
The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed. And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all else; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
If you don’t know Jesus, get to know Him and receive all the benefits that He has for you. The Bible way to get saved is found in Romans 10:9-13. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved (rescued). If you are already saved but have not been taught obedience read Romans 12 so that your mind can be renewed. We need the mind of Christ that caused Him (Jesus) to submit himself to be sacrificed for a people who did not love him.
In the Old Testament Jacob’s son Joseph loved God so much that he did not get even with his brothers for betraying him when they sold him (Joseph) into slavery and then lied to their father telling him that Joseph had been killed. Instead Joseph forgave his brothers and provided for them and their families keeping them from starving. I wonder how many Christians would help anyone who caused them to be in prison away from their father for many years. Read Genesis chapter 45 and see how God took a bad situation and used it to save a nation.
There are many situations that we face and will face throughout our time here on earth. But we do not have to face them alone. God is willing and more than able to deliver us from anything that comes to destroy us. You see it’s the thief (the devil) who comes to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus came that we may have and enjoy life till it overflows. (St John 10:10)
I have another question for you; Now do you know Jesus? Does He live in your heart?
God made a Promise to Abraham in Genesis 22;17-18 that He would bless him and multiply his descendants like the stars in the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And in his Seed meaning Christ, all the nations of earth be blessed because Abraham not only heard God’s voice but he also obeyed God’s voice. Therefore Abraham received righteousness because he believed God.
Now The Law was given by God through Moses (Exodus 20) and was added 430 years after the Promise because of sin. So the purpose of the law was to disclose and expose to mankind their guilt and to make mankind more conscious of sin. It was intended to be in effect until the Seed (the Descendant, the Heir) should come, to and concerning Whom the Promise had been made (Galatians 3:19). So the Law served as a trainer, a guardian and a guide to Christ that we might be justified (put in right standing with God) by and through faith (Galatians 3:24). Under the Law no one could be justified by it because no one could continue to live by all the commands written in the Book of the Law and to practice them. And that no person could be declared righteous and put in right standing with God through the Law (Galatians 3:10-11).
The scriptures say in St. John 1:17 that the Law was given by God through Moses, but Grace &Truth came by Jesus Christ. For God did what the Law could not do by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin. So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit. In other words being under the control of the Holy Spirit (Roman 8:3-4). Before Jesus came we were all imprisoned by sin. But now the inheritance, which was promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came we were perpetually guarded under the Law and kept in custody getting ready for the faith that was destined to be revealed (Galatians 3:22-23). In Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. For as many as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is now neither Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring and (spiritual) heirs according to the Promise.
Some Christians have a hard time with this because of traditional teaching and therefore they are still trying to keep the Law. But the scriptures are clear and say in Galatians 3:18 that the inheritance of the Promise is not based on keeping the Law but the Promise was given to Abraham as a free gift. And that the Law is not of faith and if you try to do the things prescribed in the Law then you will live by them and not by faith. We must understand that we are kept by the power of God and that we cannot keep ourselves. Jesus Christ purchased our freedom from the curse of the Law and it’s condemnation by becoming a curse for us. That the blessing Promised to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles. So that we through faith might receive the Promise of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 3:13-14)
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live and walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:1-2). For God did not send his Son into the world to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him (St. John3:17). God- so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, he made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ by His Grace (mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (Ephesians 2:4-5).
Some may say since we are no longer under the law but under grace that we should keep right on sinning since Jesus has paid the price for our past, present and future sins. The Apostle Paul taught against this wrong thinking in Romans 6 saying since we are dead to sin we should not live any longer in sin. The old man which is the old sin nature has been crucified with Christ that our body which is the instrument of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin. Therefore don’t let sin rule as king in your short-lived bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions. For sin does not have any dominion over you, since you are not under the Law but you are under Grace.
There will be situations and/or circumstances in our life that we have to deal with. The only problem is how we handle or deal with them. We can choose to fight our own battle and war in the flesh. Or we can choose to give the situation, the problem, the circumstance to The Lord and let him fight as us and for us. We can only do this when we get in peace by receiving the peace of God that is available to us in the midst of the storm. Why do you think situations and circumstances turn into storms? Mainly because we tried to handle them in our own strength and did not recognize that the battle belongs to The Lord. God did not give us carnal weapons he gave us spiritual weapons.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical weapons of flesh and blood, but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, Inasmuch as we refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
Situations and circumstances are always magnified when we allow our imaginations to get out of control. But when we cast them down they loose there stronghold and can no longer take our mind in places that will ultimately cause us to respond or act incorrectly.
Exodus 14:13-14 AMP
Moses told the people, Fear not; stand still (firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today. For the Egyptians you have seen today you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.
The Egyptians represent situations, circumstances and strongholds that come against us to destroy us. We don’t have to fight these enemies because the battle has already been won! Glory to God! Hallelujah!
“Stay in Peace and Walk in Love”
In the beginning God gave Adam authority over everything that God himself created. Adam lost that authority when he disobeyed God and ate fruit from the tree of good and evil. This caused Adam and Eve to be put out of The Garden of Eden and therefore having loss their provisions they had to work and take care of themselves. Adam and Eve had committed the first sin and their disobedience caused the whole world to be cursed. Jesus, the son of God, is the only one who is perfect and without sin. And therefore, He is the only one who could pay our penalty for sin and redeem us from the curse of the law. Some believers who have been made righteous by the blood of Jesus are still trying to keep the law because of wrong teaching. Understand this scripture “The law was given by Moses but Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ (John 1:17). No one could keep the law except Jesus. Because under the law if you broke one commandment you were guilty of them all. Jesus came and kept the law for us so that we could receive a new covenant. And that covenant is “Grace & Truth.
John 3:16 AMP
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
John 17:17 AMP
Sanctify them purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.
Grace is not something that you can’t earn or deserve, it is a free gift. God’s Righteousness At Christ’s Expense.
Romans 5:17-21 AMP
For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive God’s overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness putting them into right standing with Himself reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Well then, as one man’s trespass one man’s false step and falling away led to condemnation for all men, so one Man’s act of righteousness leads to acquittal and right standing with God and life for all men. For just as by one man’s disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) the many were constituted sinners, so by one Man’s obedience the many will be constituted righteous (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him). But then Law came in, only to expand and increase the trespass making it more apparent and exciting opposition. But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God’s unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased the more and superabounded, So that, just as sin has reigned in death, so grace (His unearned and undeserved favor) might reign also through righteousness (right standing with God) which issues in eternal life through Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) our Lord.
