Allow The Children To Come To The Lord

Sometimes we miss things that are right in our face because we are not paying attention.  When a child is crying out for help their behavior is usually rude and out of control in many different ways.  As christians we should have some discernment and take the time to see what is really going on with the child.  Children don’t come with manuals and they react to peer pressure and dysfunctional environments very differently.  There are some children that will suffer at the hand of a bully and there are other children that won’t be bullied.  Just like there are some children that will imitate their parents and there are other children that don’t want to be like their parents…no not at all.

When Jesus was teaching the multitude in Judea, the people kept bringing their children to Him so that He could touch them.  The disciples saw this as a disturbance so they stopped them.  Mark 10:14-16 AMP
[14] But when Jesus saw it, He was indignant and pained and said to them, Allow the children to come to Me–do not forbid or prevent or hinder them–for to such belongs the kingdom of God. [15] Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive and accept and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child does positively shall not enter it at all. [16] And He took them the children up one by one in His arms and fervently invoked a blessing, placing His hands upon them.

When a child wants to receive Jesus stop what you are doing and take the time to administer salvation to him or her.  Even if they are rude and disorderly.. by doing so you are helping to change their life.  Jesus always demonstrates love even when we do not deserve it because God is love.  We need to show some love to one another.  After all isn’t that what It means to be a christian?   Huh.. like Christ… Christ like….Selah

The Bible gives us futher instructions in Ephesians 6:1-4 AMP
[1] CHILDREN, OBEY your parents in the Lord as His representatives, for this is just and right. [2] Honor (esteem and value as precious) your father and your mother–this is the first commandment with a promise– [3] That all may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth. [4] Fathers, do not irritate and provoke your children to anger do not exasperate them to resentment, but rear them tenderly in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord.

God’s word is the final authority.  Consider submitting yourself to God’s word today.  He said that He would save you and your household.  He is an Awesome God…Yes He Is!
